2014 ANTARCTICA AND SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR. David, K3LP, has announced on his Web page that he will be operating from the Antarctica; Port Stanley, Falkland Islands; Chile, Argentina and Uruguay between February 2-16th, 2014. He informs OPDX that this is a family vacation and plans to operate a few hours at each location (listed below) along the way. He plans to take a vertical antenna and IC-7000 on the trip. DX Bulletin No. 1104

8Q, MALDIVES. Noel, F6BGC, will be active as 8Q7NC from Rihiveli, South Male Atoll, in the Maldives Islands (AS-013) between March 19-29th. He plans to operate holiday style on 40-6 meters with 100w and a vertical, using mostly SSB with some CW and RTTY. He states, "The island is isolated in the Indian Ocean, it's motto is 'No News, No Shoes'. There is no InterNet, cell phone ... so no DXA and no Cluster!" DX Bulletin No. 1098

3D2/R, ROTUMA. Antoine, 3D2AG, will once again be active as 3D2AG/p from Rotuma (OC-060) between late March/April. He states, "Now looking for spare parts for my 14-years-old ICOM 706-MKII, which is faulty (no TX). If anyone can help please contact me, so that I can be operational on 6m from Rotuma. Thanks in advance." His E-amil address is on QRZ.com. He also mentions, "QSL direct only to Fiji address. Please include at least two green stamps or one IRC with AIRMAIL SAE for first class return postage. After intense lobbying by 3D2AG, IRCs are now exchangeable at the normal UPU rate in Fiji. Please don't forget to put an airmail label on your return envelope, and write your country name clearly."

DX Bulletin No. 1097

5V, TOGO. Jackie, F8AEJ, will be active as 5V7JD from Lome between February 4th and March 15th. Activity will be holiday style (visiting his son), using a FT897D with a "AT-897 Plus Tuner" into a 6 band Conrad windom antenna (used at CN2CDJ; see QRZ.com). He informs OPDX that he will do mostly digital modes. QSL via his home callsign, direct or eQSL. Log will be posted on ClubLog.
